Japan's Nikkei gained 240.75

Singapore's Straits Times 14.40 points at 3,270.87.
China's Shanghai Composite rose 10.71 points at 2,250.72.
South Korea's Seoul Composite advanced 14.12 points at 1,982.30.
Taiwan's Taiwan up 35.79 points at 7,847.13.
